Peanut Butter Rocky Road Squares Recipe

Ingredients:

6 c of cereal (Cocoa Puffs)
3/4 c of corn syrup (light)
1/2 c of sugar (granulated)
2 c of mini marshmallows
3/4 c of peanut butter
1/2 c of peanuts; chopped coarsely
1/2 c of chocolate flakes (semisweet)
1 Tbsp of shortening

Instructions:

Transfer the cereals into a large mixing bowl and set aside. Mix the sugar and syrup in a saucepan; heat over moderate heat and bring to a boil while stirring continuously.

Take out from the heat and add peanut butter; stir to incorporate well. Pour onto the cereals, mix thoroughly until coated well. Let it cool for a minute or two.

Add in the marshmallows and combine well. Spread the mixture onto a 13×9 inch pan; press firmly then garnish with the peanuts. Melt shortening and chocolate flakes over medium-low heat; spread over the peanuts. Allow it to set before cutting to bars.
