M&M/Mars Almond Bar Recipe
Ingredients:
2 c of sugar (granulated)
1/2 c of corn syrup (light)
2 Tbsps of water
1/8 tsp of salt
1/2 c of water
2 pcs of egg whites (large)
35 pcs of unwrapped caramels (Kraft)
2/3 c of whole almonds (roasted)
24 oz of milk morsels
Instructions:
Combine sugar, syrup, salt, and half cup water inside a saucepan above moderate heat; stir constantly till boiling and continue cooking and clip a sugar thermometer on pan side, without touching the bottom.
Beat whites of egg onto a glass bowl till stiff. Once sugar mix reaches (270 degrees F), take out from heat then gradually pour onto the beaten whites, while beating constantly. Continue beating till mixture hardens, about twenty mins.
Add chocolate morsels; blend thoroughly. Transfer on greased 9-inch baking pan; press firmly then refrigerate for half an hour until it becomes firm.
Melt caramels in remaining water inside a saucepan above moderate heat; pour above the firm nougat. Refrigerate again for half an hour till firm then cut to 14 pieces of bars.
Melt milk morsels inside the microwave at medium setting for two mins; stir once after one min, don’t overheat. Dip the bars individually till well coated then place them onto a parchment paper. Let it cool for 1-2 hrs.
