Easy English Toffee Recipe
Ingredients:
1.5 c of walnuts; sliced
10 Tbsps of butter
1 c of sugar (brown); packed firmly
3/4 c of choco chips (semisweet)
Instructions:
Cook then stir constantly over moderate heat butter and sugar in 1.5-quart saucepan ’til ideal candy temperature is reached, 290 deg Fahrenheit. Take away from heat then let cool a bit for 5 mins. Spread walnuts on 9″ circular cake pan. Pour toffee over walnuts then spread evenly.
Sprinkle with choco chips immediately and let them melt on the hot toffee. Slowly spread melted choco on hardening toffee. You may sprinkle additional chopped walnuts above chocolate before it hardens. Let it cool in room temp ’til hard, about 2 hrs; break candy into several pieces then store inside sealed kitchenware.
