1) “The Three Musketeers” candy bar name was thought initially to have been named since people thought the candy bar was large enough for sharing with 3 persons but in fact the reason it’s named as such was really because originally it had 3 sections: vanilla, chocolate & strawberry.

2) “Snickers” is actually the name of a real horse which was owned then by the “Mars family”, the producers of this candy bar.

3) “M&M’s” actually does stand for its company owners names. Their names were Murrie & Mars. In the early 1970’s, they stopped manufacturing their red candy because of health issues but then these red M&M’s made their comeback in the 1990’s.

4) “Pop Rocks” was created by some chemist named William Mitchell. He was trying to come up with a product that will create carbonated soda pop instantly with the use of tablets of hard candies. He didn’t achieve this but instead discovered “Pop Rocks”.

5) “Baby Ruth” chocolate candy bar is named from a very popular ball player – “Babe Ruth”.

6) “Twix” was known then as “Raider bar” before the name was changed to “Twix” during 1991.

7) “Pez” was taken from a German term “pfefferrminze” which meant “peppermint”. Eduard Haas was its inventor and he was so much anti-smoking and he thought this candy was going to be that good replacement for smoking a cigarette.
