Candied Apples Recipe
Ingredients:
6 apples (medium)
1 c of sugar (granulated)
1/2 c of corn syrup (white)
1 can of milk (condensed & sweetened, 15 ozs)
pinch of salt
1 tsp of vanilla extract
Instructions:
Wash the apples thoroughly and dry it. Pass through a wood skewer on the apples stem ends. In medium saucepan, mix 1 c of sugar, 1/2 c of syrup, 1 can milk as well as salt then stir until well-blended.
Slowly cook and constantly stir the mixture until it can form a soft, flexible ball at 230 degrees F.Keep mixture away from stove then add vanilla in it; Cool.
Working fast, soak apples one by one into caramel mixture and twirl them ’til well-coated. Keep mixture away from drafts to avoid it from hardening quickly. Arrange the apples with their stem side on top on a butter-coated tray to stiffen.
