Buttermilk Candy Recipe
Ingredients:
1 c of buttermilk
1 tsp of soda (baking)
2 c of sugar; granulated
2 tsps of syrup (corn)
2 Tbsps of butter
1 tsp of extract (vanilla)
1.5 c of nuts
Instructions:
Mix soda (baking) to the buttermilk using a saucepan (4 quart). Blend well then, let it stand for 1 min. After which, mix together granulated sugar, 2 tsps of syrup, 2 Tbsps of butter. Let it simmer until it reaches soft-ball stage 236-238 degrees Fahrenheit.
Add the last two ingredients and whisk candy ’til it thickens then, place candy in a cookie sheet brushed with butter. Let it cool then, slice into squares.
