Butter Toffee Recipe
Ingredients:
5 c of sugar; granulated
1 c of water
2 and 1/2 lb or 10 sticks of butter (sweet cream)
2 c of almonds (whole); shelled
24 oz of semisweet/milk chocolate bars/chips; for coating
3 c of almonds; ground
Instructions:
Prepare 2 pans and line it with oil.Mix the first two ingredients using a saucepan (4 quart). Cook mixture over moderate heat, whisking it regularly ’til mixture records 231 degrees F in thermometer (candy).
Add-in sweet cream butter gradually ’til all of it melts. Then, blend the shelled almonds; cook mixture until almonds turn brown.
Place mixture in the pans and dip it in iced water for it to solidify. Then, remove candied mixture and place it in wax/parchment paper. Using a boiler, melt the chocolate.
Cover the topmost part of candy w/ half of semi-sweet chocolate, shower w/ almonds (ground). Repeat the procedure for the bottom part of candy.
