Apple-Walnut Jellies Recipe
Ingredients:
2-2/3 c of sugar (granulated)
1/3 c of pectin
2-1/2 c of water (cool)
15 oz of applesauce
1-2/3 c of corn syrup (light)
1 Tbsp of liquid citric acid (or 1/2 tsp of citric acid & 1 Tbsp of hot water)
1 c of walnuts; chopped
Instructions:
Mix together the pectin and the sugar (granulated). Gradually add water while stirring constantly until it smoothens. Heat to bring to a boil. Cook until 220 deg Fahrenheit on the sugar thermometer.Add the applesauce then cook 224 deg Fahrenheit.
Mix citric acid & hot water (or liquid citric acid) on another bowl. Stir well until dissolved then add into the candy. Stir in the nuts. Transfer onto a greased 9 inch square baking pan. Let it cool then cut to pieces. Coat powdered sugar on each candy piece.
